These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the ĒTERNA application and website, together referred to as the "Service".

By subscribing to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Please read these Terms together with our Privacy Policy.

2. What ĒTERNA is and is not

ĒTERNA offers reflections drawn from ancient spiritual, religious and philosophical texts, presented in plain language in response to what you write.

The Service is intended for personal reflection, comfort, contemplation and interest.

ĒTERNA is not, and does not provide:

  • medical, psychological, psychiatric or health advice, diagnosis or treatment;
  • therapy, counselling or a therapeutic relationship;
  • mental health crisis or emergency services;
  • financial, legal or other professional advice; or
  • religious ruling, doctrine or authoritative interpretation on behalf of any faith, tradition, organisation or institution.

Reflections are general in nature and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a suitably qualified professional.

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service.

You must be at least 18 years old to use ĒTERNA.

The ĒTERNA iOS application does not require an ĒTERNA account, password or sign-in.

4. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

App Store subscriptions

Subscriptions purchased within the ĒTERNA iOS application are processed through Apple's App Store and are associated with your Apple ID.

App Store subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in accordance with Apple's subscription terms. You can manage or cancel your subscription through the subscription settings associated with your Apple ID.

ĒTERNA provides a Restore Purchases option for restoring eligible App Store subscription access.

Existing or legacy website subscriptions

If you purchased a subscription through another payment channel, billing, cancellation and refund administration may continue to be handled by the provider through which that purchase was made.

Refunds

Refund requests for App Store purchases are administered by Apple in accordance with Apple's applicable policies.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under applicable consumer law.

5. Your entries and privacy

You may enter text into ĒTERNA to receive a generated reflection. Your entry is transmitted through our backend and to technology providers involved in generating the response.
