1. Information we collect and process

Entries and generated reflections

When you enter text into the ĒTERNA iOS application, your entry is transmitted through our backend and to our artificial intelligence processing provider so that ĒTERNA can generate a reflection in response.

The ĒTERNA iOS application does not require you to create an ĒTERNA account, provide an email address, or sign in.

ĒTERNA does not maintain an in-app history of your entries or generated reflections. Information may nevertheless be processed or temporarily retained by technology providers involved in delivering the Service in accordance with their applicable data processing and retention arrangements.

Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions purchased through the ĒTERNA iOS application are processed through Apple's App Store.

We use RevenueCat to determine subscription access. RevenueCat may process information such as an anonymous app user identifier, subscription status, product information and transaction identifiers.

We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Existing or legacy website subscription arrangements may involve Stripe and Clerk processing information required to administer those subscriptions.

Support communications

If you contact us for support or otherwise communicate with us, we receive the information you choose to provide, including your email address and the contents of your message.

2. How we use information

We may use information where reasonably necessary to:

• provide and operate ĒTERNA;
• generate reflections in response to your entries;
• determine subscription access;
• administer purchases and subscriptions;
• respond to support requests;
• maintain the security and reliability of the Service;
• diagnose technical issues and prevent misuse; and
• comply with legal, regulatory, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service providers

We use third-party providers to operate parts of the Service. These may include:

• Apple, for App Store distribution and in-app subscription payments;
• RevenueCat, for subscription entitlement management;
• Anthropic, for artificial intelligence processing used to generate reflections;
• Vercel, for hosting and backend infrastructure;
• Stripe and Clerk in connection with existing or legacy website subscription arrangements; and
• communications providers where required to respond to you.

These providers process information in accordance with their own terms, privacy policies and data processing arrangements.

4. Retention and international processing

ĒTERNA does not maintain an account-based history of your entries or reflections.

Service providers may retain information for limited periods under their operational, security, legal and data retention requirements. Some providers operate outside Australia, so information may be processed or stored in other countries.

Support correspondence, transaction information and other business records may be retained where reasonably necessary for support, legal, accounting, tax, fraud prevention or dispute purposes.

5. Security and your rights

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information we hold about you, including rights to request access, correction or deletion of certain information.

6. Children

ĒTERNA is intended for people aged 18 years and over. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with the date of the most recent update.
